Dhoni retains top spot

Calcutta: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni retained his No. 1 spot in the Reliance Mobile ICC player rankings for ODI batsmen, while youngsters Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli made big strides thanks to their impressive performances in the just-concluded tri-series in Bangladesh.

Left-handed Raina has jumped 10 places to sit in the 20th position. He is now one of the six Indian batsmen inside the top 20.

Apart from Dhoni and Raina, the other Indian batsmen in the top 20 are Sachin Tendulkar in the eighth place, Virender Sehwag in the ninth, Yuvraj Singh in the 12th and Gautam Gambhir in the 19th. Kohli has rocketed 26 places and is now just outside the top 20 in the 21st spot.

In the rankings for all-rounders, Yuvraj Singh has achieved a career-best third position.
