Calcutta: Sudip Chatterjee will lead CAB XI in the KSCA invitational tournament to be played in Bangalore from July 22. Abhimanyu Easwaran will be the vice-captain.
Most of the senior players, including Manoj Tiwary and Ashok Dinda, have been rested to give exposure to the youngsters. The selection committee, headed by Devang Gandhi, decided on the squad based on their performances in the local tournaments.
"It's an opportunity for the youngsters to display their merit on a bigger stage," Devang said.
Coach Sairaj Bahutule will accompany the squad along with assistant coach Joydeep Mukherjee and bowling coach Ranadeb Bose.
The CAB XI players along with Sayan Sekhar Mondal, Mukesh Kumar, Anurag Tiwary, Aritra Chatterjee, Pritam Chakrarborty, Sayan Ghosh, Ritwik Roy Chowdhury and Sumanta Gupta will also attend a camp in Bangalore from Sunday.
VVS Laxman, Muttiah Muralidharan, T.A. Sekar and Sourashish Lahiri will conduct the camp.
Meanwhile, Manoj was named Cricketer of the Year while Dinda was chosen as the best bowler. Easwaran was the Best Gentleman Player and Abhishek Raman the best U-23 cricketer.
