4 FROM BMFC CLEARED FOR BAGAN

Calcutta, May 10 :    Calcutta, May 10:  Almost half of the 165 footballers whose inter-state transfers have so far been ratified by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) are either leaving an Indian Football Association (IFA) club or joining one. More specifically, the first list which reached IFA today has 47 players opting for Bengal and 34 out of it. The list okays transfers of the quartet joining Mohun Bagan from Bengal Mumbai Football Club (BMFC). Chukwuemeka Achilefu, the Jamal brothers Kasif and Tauseef, and Lukram James Singh will now play for the green-and-maroon brigade. As expected, Mohun Bagan lost I.M. Vijayan, Jo Paul Ancheri, V.N. Dinesh and Jeevan Moraes to F.C. Kochin. Among the octet cleared for East Bengal is Sanaton Singh. Sheikh Sanjeev, Dipankar Roy and Sangram Mukherjee too will play for East Bengal. Having lost Gunabir Singh and Kiron Khongsai to FC Kochin, Mohammedan Sporting recruited 10 outstation players. F.C. Kochin finds maximum mention with 14 players joining the Kerala club and 12 leaving them. Kochin lost Prabhjot Singh to JCT and Rocky Barreto, Kaustav Ghosh and Casmiro Palha to Churchill Brothers. Among other highlights are Franky Barretto?s returning to Salgaocar and India goalie Virender Singh?s leaving JCT for Mahindras.
