The popularity of home projectors has been on an upswing the last many months among those who have a biggish wall to spare. Needless to say, the giant video image from a home projector will make any TV viewer envious. But traditional options not only need dark surroundings but also a lot of space. This is where ultra-short-throw projectors come in to overcome many of the limitations of traditional projectors. A new option that you can look at is from XGIMI, which has launched the ultra-short-throw projector segment called Aura.

Among its many features are dazzling 4K/UHD/HDR 10 support for ultra brightness while it offers “premium sound” via in-built Harman Kardon speakers. Aura is powered with Android 10 TV and the projector offers larger-than-life, immersive home entertainment that can reach 150 inches of screen size by keeping it just a few inches away from the wall. Ambient Light Rejection Screens (ALR) can be additionally bought with the Aura to offer the best picture quality under bright ambient lights or outdoors. There is also a feature-rich interface that supports connection to TV boxes, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Blu-ray players and other smart devices.

Watching a match on a 120- or 150-inch screen makes for an immersive experience and this projector delivers that. Video games too also do well on ultra-short-throw projectors since these usually put out a lot of light, so they can produce a bright and colourful image even in a room with ambient light. Over time, the sound quality on these projectors have improved, so the built-in speakers should offer you decent audio but bringing in an external sound system will take the experience to a new level.

Pre-bookings for the device is on and Aura will be ready to ship in November. It will be available at a special price of Rs 350,000 (all inclusive) for a limited period (original pricing is Rs 400,000).
