Music competition:
The Guwahati Cine Musicians Association is organising an all-Assam music competition in Guwahati on November 9. There will be awards for the best singer (male and female), best accompanying band, best guitarist and best drummer. Only non-professional singers and musicians are eligible to participate in the competition. Interested participants can send one audio cassette, containing not more than two original (Assamese songs), along with a demand draft of Rs 50, favouring Guwahati Cine Musicians Association, before October 10 to Aniruddha Baruah, general secretary, GCMA, Studio Friends, Rajgarh, 2nd bylane, Guwahati-3.
Chetana divas:
The Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti is organising a daylong programme, “jatiya chetana divas”, in memory of martyr Kanaklata Baruah at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, on September 20. A seminar on “National consciousness and the present situation of Assam” will be held on the occasion. The seminar will be conducted by Nirmalprabha Bordoloi. G.P. Sarma and Jogendra Narayan Bhuyan will speak on the occasion.
Computer workshop:

Classical music:
