Competition:
Fine arts and literary competitions among students, in memory of Bhabendranath Saikia, will be organised by Chaturbhuj Sangskritik Academy and Gauhati University on February 20-21 at the Gauhati University. Competitions will include on-the-spot story writing and drawing. Entries for essays and plays should be sent to Rita Sarma or Bhagawan Sarma at Krishnakanta Handique Library, Gauhati University, before February 15.
One-act play:
The 25th Northeast one-act play competition, organised by Jyotirupa, a socio-cultural organisation, will be held from February 20 to 22 at District Library Auditorium, Guwahati. Kishore Thakuria mono-acting competition will be held on the first day from 5 pm.
Dance festival:
Deori Dance Festival 2004, organised jointly by the Eastern Regional Cultural Centre under the government of India, the state directorate of culture and Association of Kundigira Art and Culture, will be held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, from February 1, 2004.
Refresher courses:
A refresher course on disability, sponsored by Rehabilitation Council of India, slated to be held on February 23, has been postponed to February 27.
