Jorhat, April 30: A Class VII student of Don Bosco was found, with his hands tied, behind the school building this afternoon.
Principal Father Mattam said the boy, Bagchung, had left his school bag inside the bus after classes were over and told his younger brother that he was going to the toilet. He also told his brother that if he did not return, the conductor should take his bag to the principal’s office and inform his parents. When he did not return, the teachers who were in the bus informed the principal who in turn informed the parents. A search was conducted and he was found with his hands tied in front in a portion of the premises where some construction had taken place before Bihu.
The boy later told his parents that as he came out of the toilet, a boy called him to the place where he was found, gagged him and tied him up after which he lost consciousness. Jorhat superintendent of police Sanjukta Parasor said investigations were on. She said medical tests had not found any chemical substance or marks of violence on the boy’s body.
