OFA trial

Guwahati: Six footballers from Assam - Palab Das, Amar Jyoti, Samjjulb, Prathib Gogoi, Safikul Hoque and Madhujya Bora - have been invited to join the Ozone Football Academy at Bangalore for the final trials from July 9 to 12.

Shortlisted

Guwahati: Altogether 37 players have been shortlisted from the under-19 camp of the Assam Cricket Academy for the next phase from Tuesday.

Lifters' camp

Guwahati: Two weightlifters from Assam - Monalisha Sonowal and Swapna Priya Baruah - have been invited to the national weightlifting coaching camp to be held at NIS, Patiala, from Friday.

GB meeting

Guwahati: The governing body meeting of the Assam Athletics Association will be held at the Assam Olympic Association conference hall here on July 9.

SJFI president

Guwahati: Assam Sports Journalists Association (ASJA) president Subodh Malla Barua has been unanimously elected president of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) in its annual general body meeting held at Nagpur on Sunday. ASJA secretary Bidyut Kalita has also been elected an executive member of the federation.

Crash course

Guwahati: The Assam Chess Club, an unit of city-based sports promotion NGO, Akshayam, is organising a 10-day chess crash course for beginners from Tuesday to July 7 at its Dispur Wireless centre. Children between three and 18 years of age will be eligible.

Body-builders

Guwahati: Assam body- builders Dilip Deuri, Priyobarta Singh and Abhijit Das will participate in the selection trials for the Indian team to be held at Chennai on July 19 for the 50th Asian Body-Building and Physique Sports championship, which will be held from September 2 to 8 in Bhutan.

Cyclists

Guwahati: Four Assam cyclists - Chayanika Gogoi, Jayshree Gogoi, Rajshree Gogoi and Rausan Sahu - have been selected to join the National Cycling Academy at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi.

Adventure

Guwahati: Assam Rock and Sport Climbing Association is organising a three-day summer adventure camp here from July 8. Participants will have to be above eight years of age.

Olympic Day

Imphal: The Manipur Olympic Association has informed that the Olympic Day run has been rescheduled to 8am on Wednesday at Khuman Lampak sports complex.
