Hailakandi, July 15: Silchar emerged the group champions in the south Assam zone of Sujit Narzary Trophy under-13 inter-district football championship.

In the last match of the zonal league at Jawahar Navadaya Vidyalaya ground in Monacherra of Hailakandi district today, Silchar tamed Karimganj 11-0.

Gaurav Sarkar opened the floodgates with a second-minute goal. He scored again in the 35th and 37th minutes for his hattrick. Timothi Kamei scored a brace in the 24th and 25th minutes, while Dindayal Thapa also struck for a hattrick ruffling the net in the 32nd, 42nd and 50th minutes. Hamboy Lindo, Pinku Das and Sigran Kabui scored a goal each in the 34th, 43rd and 45th minutes respectively.

In another match of the day, Lakhipur defeated Dima Hasao 2-0. K. Willer Singha scored both the goals in the 24th and 40th minutes.

Silchar league: Tarapur AC humiliated Police AC 7-0 in a match of the Ramanuj Gupta Trophy Super Division football tournament of DSA Silchar at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar today.

Lalramliana scored four goals in a row in the fourth, 17th, 29th and 34th minutes, while Lalramwangbawla netted two goals in the 52nd and 62nd minutes. Lalhamangainzuala scored in the 83rd minute.
