Guwahati, May 11: Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti and Anand Academy won their respective matches in the 7th All-Assam Dhansena Sinha Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament at Latasil playground here today.

Sarla Birla thumped Bright Future by 58 runs while Anand Academy defeated Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara by four wickets.

Put to bat, Sarla Birla put up 166 for seven in their stipulated 20 overs.

After the top order crumbled, the middle order took control with Manash Kalita notching up 24 while Aditya Gautam and Jeet Kalita chipped in with 22 and 19 respectively.

In reply, Bright Future were bowled out for 108 in 19.5 overs. But for a valuable 31 from opener Sumit Kamat and 21 from Vivek Rai, the remainder failed to rise to the challenge and perished cheaply.

Aditya was named Man of the Match for his all-round show.

In the afternoon match, KV Khanapara were all out for 118 in 20 overs.

Aman Kalita topscored with 27 while Avinash Sarma and Chiranjit Kalita scored 19 and 14 respectively after the top order faltered.

In reply, Anand surpassed their target in 19.4 overs, posting 122 for six.
