Hailakandi, May 23: Public Higher Secondary School won the under-14 and under-17 football titles, defeating Sahabad High Madrassa 2-0 and S.K. Dev High School 2-1 respectively in the Hailakandi district-level inter-high and higher secondary schools meet.

The meet, organised by the District Sports Officer’s office, ended today at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose stadium.

Public School also bagged the kabaddi crown, beating Nityanandapur Higher Secondary School.

In women’s kabaddi, Rangauti Girls’ Higher Secondary School annexed the title, defeating Prankrishna Girls’ Higher Secondary School.

Kabaddi players Mandira Paul of Prankrishna Girls’ HS School, Eliza Begum Mazumdar of Rangauti School and Debashree Nath of Lala Multipurpose HS School were also felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony.
