Kokrajhar, May 2: The newly formed Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has urged its officials to put in extra effort for the overall development of the region.

Interacting with the top officials of the council, including the secretaries, council head of departments and district officers, at Bodoland Assembly Auditorium Hall, the new executive council members stressed the need to share ideas and views.

Kampha Borgayary, who became the deputy chief of the BTC for the second time in a row, reviewed the work done in the past five years.

He said the BTC’s development and fall would depend on its leaders and that good leaders, officers and planning would help to develop the council.

He pointed out the poor performance of some departments, especially the industry department (handloom and textile).

He said they needed to understand the needs of the people to fulfil the promises made to them.

He requested the members to maintain protocol and to behave properly with visitors to the secretariat.

The meeting was attended by Emmanuel Mushahary, Mitharam Basumatary, Sabharam Basumatary, James Basumatary, Santiuse Kujur, Ganesh Kachary, Banomali Boro, Mono Kumar Braham and all the council secretaries and officers.
