Imphal, June 21: Oscar Paona Bazar posted an eight-run-victory against Youth Welfare Club, Patsoi in the 1st Brajabihari Paul and Govind Paul Memorial Cricket Trophy at Luwangpokpa cricket ground today.

Oscar Paona Bazar started their innings with Hemant Singh’s steady knock of 27 runs from 32 balls while Santosh Singh managed to get 17 runs off 47 balls to muster 88 runs for 10 wickets from 25 overs. Youth Welfare Club bowler Millan picked up three wickets from five overs while Nikel claimed two wickets from five overs. The Oscar bowlers limiting them to 80 runs. Nikel Singh topscored with 18 runs from 10 balls.

Wilson and Bobby Singh took three wickets each from five overs for Oscar Paona Bazar with the former claiming the Man of the Match title today.

Olympic Day: The Fraternity of Sportspersons, Manipur will observe Olympic Day 2013 at YAWA indoor hall, Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai on Sunday.

Selection: The All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association will hold a trial from June 24-28 at LKYDA Laipham Khunou to select the Manipur team for the 16th Sub-Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship in Imphal.

Football league: The Imphal West District Football Association will kickstart its calendar with 14th S. Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League 2013 and Sub-Junior Girls League from July 11 onwards. Registration of players for both the leagues is slated on or before July 3.
