Khurai men triumph

Khurai Polo Club(A) beat Chingkhei Hunba Polo Club (A) by 7-4 goals in the 30th N. Hazari & Dr N. Tombi Memorial State-Level Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung. Khurai Polo Club took the lead with P. Ojit Singh smashing three goals in the first and second chukkers.

Imphal, Feb. 26: Khurai Polo Club(A) beat Chingkhei Hunba Polo Club (A) by 7-4 goals in the 30th N. Hazari & Dr N. Tombi Memorial State-Level Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung. Khurai Polo Club took the lead with P. Ojit Singh smashing three goals in the first and second chukkers.

Chingkhei Hunba rider L. Kokeshwar managed a goal in the second chukker to make the tally 1-3.

Khurai Polo Club raced ahead in the third chukker with T. Roshan and O. Rozer scoring a goal each to make the tally 5-1. Chingkhei Hunba rider L. Kokeshwar also found his second goal to make the tally 5-2. 

Boosted by the goal, the Chingkhei Hunba riders attacked full throttle in the fourth chukker leading to L. Atangba and Th. Kaoba slicing home a goal each to put the score at 4-5. 

However, the Khurai team sealed the match in their favour with P. Ojit and T. Roshan fetching a goal each to make the tally 7-4. 

In another match, Manipur Police Sports Club(B) beat Nambul Mapal Polo Club by 7-2 goals.
