Dhan sena cricket
Guwahati, May 21: Royal Global School and Guwahati Madrassa High School won their respective matches of the 11th Dhan Sena Sinha inter-school prize-money cricket tournament at Latasil ground here today.
In the first match of the day, Royal Global School got the better of Happy Montessori School by six wickets. Electing to bat, Happy Montessori School put up 85 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Binod Sharma scored 17 runs, including two hits to the fence, while Kamakhya Singh and Akash Sharma contributed 14 and 12 runs respectively.
Rishab Agarwal was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 10 runs in his two overs while Priyangshu Changkakoti bagged two wickets for 18 runs in his three overs.
In reply, Royal Global School got past the target losing six wickets in 18 overs. Priyangshu Changkakoti topscored with an unbeaten 35 runs, studded with one hit to the fence and one over the ropes while Hasmi Islam remained not out on 18 runs, with two boundaries.
Sanjib Ray picked up two wickets for 32 runs in his allotted four overs while Rupesh Singh bagged one wicket for eight runs in his quota of overs.
In the other match of the day, Guwahati Madrassa High School edged past LOG Hindi High School by one wicket.
Put to bat, LOG Hindi High School scored 115 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated overs. Ravi Prasad topscored with 33 runs while Lalan Choudhury contributed 22 runs, including three hits to the fence. Gopi Basfor bagged three wickets for 13 runs in his allotted overs while
Dhananjoy Basfor and Sanju Basfor scalped two wickets each.
In reply, Guwahati Madrassa High School got past the target losing nine wickets in 19 overs. Krishna Basfor topscored with an unbeaten 19 runs, including two boundaries, while Prem Basfor and Gopi Basfor contributed 17 and 16 runs respectively.
Mithun Sahani was the pick of the bowlers with figures of four for 29 runs in his quota of overs, while Bablu Gupta and Pappu Ali bagged two wickets each.
