An excise department team led by Subhash Baishya, assistant inspector (Guwahati Sadar), seized 1,000 litres of illicit liquor from Uzan Bazar area on Friday. The liquor was brought to the city from Bhitorkhola village in Changsari, Kamrup, in a Maruti van. hree persons, Jayanta Boro, Deepak Boro and driver Dandi Deka, were arrested in this connection. The Kamrup (metro) district administration has set up a control room (telephone number 2601616) to help people in case of any eventuality during the Durga Puja celebrations.
