Dimapur: Office-bearers and frontal organisations of the BJP's Kohima district division and three mandals of 8-Western Angami, 10-Northern Angami-I and 12-Tseminyu Assembly constituencies, with all units, have resigned en masse from the primary and active membership of the party on Monday.

"We, along with all the members, will join hands with former Nagaland chief minister and MP Neiphiu Rio as he is the only dynamic and visionary political leader," said a communiqué, issued by Seyiekhrielie Nagi, general secretary (resigned) of the BJP Kohima district.

"Compelled to issue this statement in the aftermath of the state BJP's negligence in resolving the crisis within party's Kohima district unit over the expulsion of our district president Khriezovolie Kesiyie and general secretary Seyiekhrielie Nagi," the communiqué added.

"On October 24, the officials and the mandals had requested the state BJP to resolve the matter in the interest of the party and reconsider the unilateral and hasty decision taken by state president Visasolie Lhoungu without following the party constitution. But till date, the leaders have not initiated any step to resolve the matter but have only been creating further misunderstanding and division among the BJP Kohima officials and its wings," the statement said.
