New audio-visual tribute to Satyajit Ray features unforgettable images from his own films

It binds together remarkable moments and images of various films of Ray’s rich and diverse oeuvre in way as to offer insight into evolution of his creative vision

As a tribute to the versatile genius and doyen of Bengali cinema Satyajit Ray, Amader Satyajit, an audio-visual presentation remembering some of the legendary works of the great master, was launched on May 11. His son Sandip Ray was present at the launch, which took place at the Ray residence on Bishop Lefroy Road. Amader Satyajit is an illustrative presentation on the celebrated filmmaker, combined with narration. It binds together remarkable moments and images of the various films of Ray's rich and diverse oeuvre in a way as to offer an insight into the evolution of his creative vision across the decades. The concept, voice and lyrics for this audio-visual tribute have been given by Ketan Sengupta while its illustrations and videography are by EKTA Creative Tales. The music of the presentation was composed by Shiladitya Chaudhury and Som Chakraborty. "Satyajit Ray is still alive in our hearts. He is remembered by us in our everyday life through his movies. In an attempt to rewind ourselves to the Satyajit era, this presentation has been made to remember this towering personality through the name of his movies and characters created by him.
