It’s no surprise that the Indian film industry is as vast and as diverse as India itself. While all of us are bred on Indian cinema — from dialogues to dance routines — our cinema and culture has proved to be immensely influential to people around the world as well. A number of Instagram influencers have gained fame and a loyal community by showing their love and appreciation of Indian entertainment.

It might be a stereotype that we belong to a land of song and dance, but one cannot ignore the importance of these art forms in our cinema. Here are a few Instagrammers who have risen to fame expressing their admiration for Indian cinema by shaking a leg to popular numbers…

Quick Style from Norway

This Norwegian hip-hop dance group has become the talk of social media recently. Their latest video went viral and got a whopping 2.8 million views on Instagram. Which song were they dancing to, you may ask? Chura Ke Dil Mera from the film Main Khiladi Tu Anari! They danced at a wedding and stole everyone’s heart with their video on social media.

They got every beat with their matka-jhatkas and thumkas, and most importantly, with their attitude, which is everything in a Bollywood number. They also danced to Tumse Milke Dil Ka from the film Main Hoon Na and to Kala Chashma from Baar Baar Dekho, which got 1.5M and 1.6M views respectively.

Kili Paul and Neema from Tanzania

We’re pretty sure you’ve seen this content creator all over social media lip-syncing to Bollywood songs and even showing off his killer moves in the videos. This Tanzanian Instagrammer rose to fame by lip-syncing perfectly to Hindi songs over which the internet lost its mind. He now has 3.8M followers on Instagram and almost all his videos get millions of views as soon as he posts them.

He is seen dancing and lip-syncing to Bollywood numbers with his sister Neema. Dressed in their native Maasai attire, this brother-sister duo was felicitated by the Indian High Commission in Tanzania early this year and also got appreciated by PM Modi on his radio show.

Ricky Pond from the US

This dad from Utah is the most adorable content creator you will see. He is enthusiastic and has an infectious smile while dancing away to numerous songs on Instagram. He is an ardent lover of Bollywood dance routines and lip-syncs while shaking a leg for the camera.

He even gets his wife and four kids to dance along with him in his videos, which is sure to bring a smile on your face. He’s danced to a number of Bollywood hits, along with some catchy numbers from the south like Rowdy Baby.

Nina from Germany

This instagrammer absolutely loves Bollywood and is a fantastic performer. Not only does she recreate some of the iconic outfits from the songs she is performing, but also gives some of the best expressions you might see in a performer.

Nina promotes body positivity and dances her heart out to popular Bollywood numbers like Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai, Sammi Sammi and Lazy Lad, to name a few!

Jika from France

This French dancer can be seen grooving to Bollywood numbers on the streets of Paris. His energy is electric and so are his moves. He always wears his signature yellow sunglasses and dances like no one is watching.

From collaborating with other local dancers and dancing in front of the Eiffel Tower, he gives a #desivibe abroad and we can’t get enough of him!

Vina Fan from Indonesia

This Indonesian dancer has become her country’s Bollywood icon, and for good reason! She recreates iconic Bolly numbers frame by frame — from costume, lighting, editing and sets. Her love for Bollywood reflects in the way she re-creates iconic music videos.

From the classic Bole Chudiyaan to Pairon Mein Bandhan Hain, her re-creations are commendable and we can’t wait for her next production!
