Close to 100 per cent candidates have passed the BA, BSc and BCom final semester exams of Calcutta University. The results were announced on Tuesday.
In BCom, 99.99 per cent students cleared the exam. In BSc and BA, 99.95 and 99.86 per cent students passed, respectively.
The government had set an August 31 deadline to publish the results so that the application process for admission to postgraduate courses could start on September 1.
Filled-in application forms for postgraduate courses can be submitted till September 15. The merit lists have to be published by September 20 and admissions will continue till October 25.
“Online submission of applications will start on Wednesday,” said CU vice-chancellor Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee.
The university will admit students on the basis of their scores. Candidates will not be called for verification of documents or counselling.
Online classes will start towards the end of October.
