Young members of Dalhousie Institute brain drain during quiz competition hosted by the institute

The competition, a general quiz, tested the awareness and observation abilities of the youngsters about events and incidents happening around them

Dalhousie Institute recently hosted an interesting and fun-filled quiz competition titled KidsPlus that saw the young members of the club showing of their wealth of knowledge. The competition, a general quiz, tested the awareness and observation abilities of the youngsters about events and incidents happening around them.

With around seven teams comprising four members each, the participants had a blast wracking their brains and were elated when they could guess the answers correctly.

The KidsPlus Quiz had senior club members assisting the participants as mentors. Comprising of a total of eight rounds that included questions in varying formats such as audiovisual, riddles, identifying characters, general knowledge and much more, the kids were exposed to a good set of enriching questions curated by quizmaster Barry Antunis.

At the end of a highly charged contest, which was also followed by a tie breaker round between team Google and IDC, Quizzards won with a good 155 points to their credit. Team Google and IDC teams finished off at 130 and 120 points respectively.

Quizmaster Autunis was thoroughly floored by the enthusiasm and eagerness with which the young guns participated in the event.

He said, “It was an absolute honour and pleasure to conduct the quiz at DI, which is the Mecca of quizzing, not just in Calcutta, but I believe in the entire country. What we conducted today was to discover fresh talent and to nurture future quizzers. I am very impressed with the fact that someone won the quiz with 155 points, which is a big score.”
