ART & INSTALLATION

Fashion, architecture and space design clubbed together in one was beautifully exhibited in the installation by Dev R Nil titled ‘The Forest of Lost Feelings’. The designers did a marvellous job by incorporating fashion into artwork and space design. The grid was made of naturally available green bamboo reeds and exhibited a different dimension of experimental art. “TIS has been home for us from the very beginning. Being invited by Madhu (Neotia) to put up an installation with our clothes as the central piece was a big challenge in such a short time. But thankfully our last few years of experience in designing events and interiors paid off in creating this architectural skeleton of the Forest of Lost Feelings. We brought together fashion, architecture and space design all under one roof through this presentation,” said Nil.

THE PLAYGROUND

The Playground by Young Minds’ Collective was the best part of The India Story as it hosted children who interacted, played and had a lot of fun just like their moms and dads at the event. Toddler zone, art and craft activities, Santa parading, Lego corner and more such interactive children’s activities were arranged for them to engage in an immersive experience. “During the three days, kids’ happiness and excitement knew no bounds as they engaged themselves in holistic learning through an array of activities. We feel indebted to The India Story for giving us the golden opportunity to put up something for kids on such a grand scale,” said Dishha Singla Agarwal at Young Minds’ Collective.

The India Story never fails to surprise us and it was no different this time. We spotted House of AC at The India Story 2022 as it fitted aptly with this year’s theme of Dimensions. The concept behind the lovely dark House of AC where we spotted artwork made from natural elements like wood, sand, rock and stones, among other earthly matters, was ‘Made Up Matter’. It celebrated the union of raw materials with the metaverse. This installation took us into a phygital world — a space where technology allowed us to experience the combination of digital and physical dimensions. “For me, India Story is about the right people coming together to celebrate Indian art and design. It was a real pleasure to be participating in this edition. I’m already looking forward to the next one. Special thanks to Madhu Neotia for the opportunity,” said Aman Choudhary at the House of AC. We loved the blend of technology with the basic raw materials at hand. Art truly is universal!

SAFFRON STORIES was a lovely stall set up right outside the playground to connect to children through story cards and interactive games. “Saffron Stories is a brand that talks about Indian culture and heritage to children through our range of story cards and interactive games. Being a part of India story was a great experience,” said Ishita Patodia at Saffron Stories.

SPOTTED

“Every edition of The India Story is different as Madhu puts her heart and soul into it and does a fabulous job. The farmer’s market was very interesting and The India Story has stuff for almost everyone to buy,” said Preeti Goenka, co-founder of Stylefile. “Everything is so wonderful about India Story and it’s difficult to pick just one good thing as there are too many good things. Being a foodie, I really enjoyed Gourmestan as they have the best cheese,” said Sanjiv Goenka, chairperson of RPSG Group.Picture: Pabitra Das
