What to expect: Ladies Circle India and Round Table India presents the sixth edition of Kolkata Kiddathon in association with The Telegraph that is expected to witness 2,500-plus participants from Kolkata competing across six categories. With the theme being Superhero Run, expect the participants to be dressed as their favourite superheroes. The event that promotes fitness, healthy living and outdoor activity among kids ups the excitement level with the revolutionary automated race photo tagging technology for all runners and use of RFID technology for easy collection of pictures later. The fundraising run will be contributing towards the cause of education for underprivileged children and benefiting society at large. Estimated footfall for the day is 5,000- 6,000.
Organiser speak: “All child participants will get free T-shirts, medal, water bottle, biscuits, cakes, ball, stationery, certificate and lots of other items.The overall spend per participant is way over the registration paid. So, Kolkata, get your shoes out and pull up your socks as we are ready,” said Abhay Doshi, chairman of Calcutta South Round Table 17. Shruti Doshi, chairperson of Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27, and part of the core organising committee, said, “Kids are the superheroes of our daily lives, they are resilient and need to be nurtured to be responsible citizens when they grow up. They were confined to electronic gadgets for any communication or entertainment during the last two Covid-marred years. So, this year’s theme is the ‘Superhero Run’, which signifies the breaking off the shackles of boredom and indoor inactivity."
Art Carnival 2022
What: ART CARNIVAL 2022 IN ASSOCIATION WITH The Telegraph

Where: The Bengal Rowing Club
Time: 4pm to 6pm
What to expect: In its fifth year, Art Carnival 2022 at The Bengal Rowing Club in association with The Telegraph gets bigger and more exciting. Like previous years, members will get a chance to try their painting skills on a big and unique canvas. In the earlier editions Art Carnival has seen enthusiastic participation from creative members who have created a riot of colours by painting auto rickshaw, boats and masks. This year, the event that is being held in partnership with Jagriti Art Initiative will see 10 five-ft tall fibre structures of elephants getting drenched in the creative strokes of members from eight year-old onwards. Over hundred participants are expected to paint the elephants and create an elephant parade.
Organiser speak: “We are looking at members from the age of eight years onwards to come and display their artistic skills at painting and creating myriad colour Elephant Parade. We are all thrilled to see how the end product is with the imagination of our young artists,” said Rohit Bihani, chairman, entertainment committee.
