The Bengal Rowing Club (BRC) turned into a mini Rajasthan with Dharohar, a carnival organised in association with The Telegraph. The vibrancy of the culture of the north Indian state was beautifully captured in the decor that included decorative camel sculptures dotting the club’s premises decked up in colourful rugs and jewellery; traditional Rajasthani music and dance added to the mood, and stilt walkers filled the young ones with awe with their acrobatics. Some of the club members and tiny tots turned out in traditional bandhni ensembles, matching the theme. A host of activities including, painting, dance, acting and more added to the fervour along with a sumptuous Rajasthani spread.

“We are here, because our son Ved did a dhunuchi dance performance today at the Dharohar carnival. He really enjoyed dancing. And we think it is a great way to indulge kids in learning about traditions. Everyone is having a blast here,” said Jayant and Vidya Chawdhury

The young guests had a great time trying their hands at pottery. They made lamps, vases, and small mud toys
Among the game corners, ‘Sethi Ki Tijori’ was the crowd- puller. Participants had to match the key with the locks of the same number in a given time

Samauel Labher and wife Chandana Pliang with their son Issac had a gala time at Dharohar. “We are really having a nice time and the event has many fun activities for kids. Issac had a lot of fun today. The food and especially the tea is very good,” said Samuel
