The theme: Looking into the inner self and introspection. Now in its 22nd year, Dumdum Park Bharat Chakra has long established itself as one of Kolkata’s most revered puja pandals. With this year’s meaningful theme stirring consciousness and urging people to pause and think, the club has once again lived up to its strong values.
Rooting for the club is: Actor Arunima Ghosh who dropped by at the pandal wearing a gorgeous canary yellow sari. The actress talked of her Puja memories, emphasizing how great it is to see the crowd once again after the lull that had been brought about by the pandemic. “Ever since I was younger, Puja to me has been about holidays, new clothes, good food and going out with family and friends. Even now, I try to go out with my family and cousins for at least one day during Puja. I love eating bhog as well.”

Members of the club and puja committee felicitate guests from Subhas Bose Institute of Management, Barasat, Samit Kumar Mondal, vice-principal and Sonali Dutta, centre-in-charge said, “It is really nice to see how well decorated and organised the puja is here and how everyone has come together for it. The fact that Dumdum Park Bharat Chakra have organised such a grand affair after two years of the pandemic, is really good to see.”
The tiny tots of the community joined forces and put up an energetic dance performance. The youngest of the performers, who was only four, commanded the stage and the audience’s attention.
The cultural program segment of the evening started off with a powerful medley of Puja songs, complete with the evergreen Anandadhara bohichhe bhubane to the foot-tapping Dekhechhi rupsagore.
The enthusiastic crowd cheered on throughout the many performances that were lined up. Seen in frame is one of the many folk dances that were presented. From kids to elders, it was delightful to see everyone coming together to put up interesting and lively routines.
