Sujata Biswas and Taniya Biswas, the siblings behind popular apparel label SuTa, have not only been dazzling with their designs but are also fashionistas in their own right. We’ve all sneaked a peek of their GRWM or OOTD videos for new ways to style our saris. For this Durga Puja, the sisters have curated a lookbook for the five days of Pujo exclusively for My Kolkata. If you are looking for some inspiration for your Pujor shaaj, check out what Sujata and Taniya have in mind for day and night looks for the five days of Puja.

Simply stylish Sasthi

OOTD: A touch of tradition and bit boho to appeal to the free spirit in you. Pair the Morning Star sari — a white mul cotton number with silver sequins — with a deep neck blouse, and opt for a silver choker or Afghani earrings. Add the boho touch with a bag with a fringe design and some classic ankle boots. A simple look with dark rimmed eyes and nude lips, and you’re ready to turn heads on Sasthi morning!

OOTN: Usher in the evening festivities with the lavender cotton and zari Jamuni Jawa Kusum sari. Accessorise with layered necklaces and a kada, slip on some gleamy stilettos to offset the almost pastel shade of your attire. Maybe a touch of jamun shade in your lipcolour, with brown smokey eyes and you’re set to slay.

Jazzed up Saptami

OOTD: For Saptami morning pandal-hopping and lunch plans, be comfy in the mul cotton Manjaadi sari with the Gulab Jaamun blouse. Opt for oxidised golden accessories and echo the gold tones of your outfit with a pair of golden accented cowboy boots and a gorgeous golden bag. Go full fusion with a high pony tail or add a touch of Indian with a bun and a gajra to your bun. Keep the makeup light and dewy, and you are ready!

OOTN: You can never go wrong with a floral printed saree with a dramatic puff sleeved blouse. Pair the dramatic Pumpkin Flounce blouse with the Treasured Blooms sari — a flowy number in modal viscose that has the sheen perfect for evening wear. Opt for comfortable, low-heel boots and a statement neckpiece with a contrasting colour for a casual but stylish Saptami look.

Quintessential Bengali Ashtami

OOTD: This Ashtami morning look will remind you of a bygone era when picnics in the garden involved dressing in cotton saris and pearls. The cotton Shiuli Shokal sari from Suta’s latest Puja collection is perfect for the Ashtami anjali look. Make it edgy by wearing the cotton Nakshatram kurta as a blouse. Complete the look with a pair of gingham heels, pearl jewellery, a jute sling bag and chotto tip-halka lipstick. Tie your hair in a loose braid or a messy hand bun with a kanta for the yesteryear vibes and you, the Bong beauty, are all set.

OOTN: An all-ivory Ashtami look is timeless. Keep it subtle with just a pop of colour on the lips and kajal-adorned eyes. Opt for a statement watch, golden jewellery and some classic heels, and echo the pearl design with a pearl-studded clutch.

Glam and bold Navami

OOTD: A bold look for Navami fits the bill because everyone knows Navami is usually for friends and a party. The Woh Rumani pre-draped cotton number goes very well with a denim corset. Continue the royal colour palette with a matching bag and add some sass with a pair of denim-toned ankle boots with pointy heels. Both bright and lightly smokey eyes work well with this one, or opt for some glitter on the eyes and a dash of light colour for the lips.

OOTN: A classic maroon fits right in for the evening. My Slice of Heaven in a dark maroon with chumki and ruffles is a comfy mul cotton and pairs well with the strappy golden coloured Sunshine Mind blouse. Opt for golden jewellery, burgundy lipstick, a stack necklace set and a black bag with black formal heels, and you’ll b right at home for an evening out or a house party.

Retro chic Dashami

OOTD: Red and white is almost sacrosanct for Dashami morning, whether you’re part of the sindoor khela or not. The ghoti-haata Sugar Puff blouse in white pairs beautifully with the red cotton Pyar Tune Kya Kiya sari — the heart motif is just the right quirk on a traditional morning! Style it with a string of oversized pearls and pearl studs and be comfy — you might have to run away from the sindoor — with a pair of white sneakers. A messy bun with bold lips and light eyes, a tan-shade bag and you are ready.

OOTN: A classic Rekha gold-on-gold look seems befitting to bid adieu to our golden goddess. The chanderi silk Aurum sari paired with the Paz blouse, also in chanderi silk, works very well for bishorjon and the Bijoya adda that follows. Go full monochrome and commit to the gold with a gold-toned bag and shoes and add a pop of colour with red lips and red roses in your hair. Asche bochor abar hobe — the fun, the frolic and the fashion.
