During Puja, and especially while pandal-hopping, not only do you get to see new pandals, but also get to visit new cafes, restaurants and bars. A quick coffee, a wholesome meal or even a couple of drinks! It’s all fun with the right bunch of people and celebrations all around you. Here’s a list of places that we would definitely love to visit during the Pujo shenanigans to keep the spirits high.

Aminia

Amidst the crowd and the celebrations, a big plate of biryani hits the right spot when one is refueling. A hot plate of Aminia biryani, teamed with some mutton chaap and a chilled Thums Up to wash it all down is a big draw. According to their Instagram page, the 95-year-old brand is also ready to celebrate the festivities by delivering their treats to your home as well.

AM PM

A coffee, a cocktail or a coffee cocktail? Yes to all, please! AM PM, a hangout joint in Kolkata is also joining in on the Durga Pujo festivities in their own way. Of course, their crafted cocktails, delicious tapas and sharing plates, and classy music are a must, but the place is also adorning their space with radiant, festive decor – bringing a touch of Bengal’s rich culture to their patrons.

Address: 5th Floor, Park Center Building, 24, Mother Teresa Sarani

Art Café

Kalimpong comes to Calcutta at Art Café, but that gives us a window to take a break from the celebrations. The cute café is a 30-seater with earthy interiors and uses organic produce from Kalimpong. Dig into a hot cuppa with a side of jhol momos… it will surely leave you refreshed. The cafe opened its gates just ahead of Pujo, and will be open to customers all days of the week.

Address: 17C, Dr. Sarat Banerjee Road (near Lake Market)

Five Mad Men

Gastropub Five Mad Men is also ready to celebrate Durga Puja in ‘dhoom dhaak’ style! ‘Pujo Paglami’ will be on in full swing during the four days with DJ nights with DJ Esdy and DJ Adrick and more, along with a specially curated Durga Puja menu. The venue will also be decked up in Pujo décor, will have dhaak and live music.

Address: Salt Lake, Sector V

The Bikers Cafe

Music and ‘moja’ are always a part of the Durga Puja festivities and The Bikers Café has got the memo. The four days are packed with back-to-back music performances – Vedant on October 20 and 23, Soulful Brother on October 21, Saptak on October 22 and Sanjay on October 23. The music is also going to be accompanied by Pujo-special dishes.
