London, April 4 (Reuters): An Italian man accused of stalking German supermodel Claudia Schiffer will not go on trial and has been sent instead to hospital for psychiatric treatment, court officials said.

Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop charges against Agostino Pomata, 34, saying he was no longer fit to face trial.

Pomata was accused of harassing Schiffer at her mansion in Suffolk, eastern England, where she lives with her British producer husband Matthew Vaughn.
