Dhanbad, June 18: After having been featured in several television programmes, 54-year-old stunt director Tiger S.N.T. Lee is gearing up for yet another show.

With Shabaash India and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, which was aired recently, to his credit, Lee is now part of Legend of India, an initiative of producer-director Abhilash Bhattacharya.

A resident of Kabari Patt in Wasseypur, Lee, is a diploma holder in metallurgical engineering. He started teaching martial arts in 1971 on the Indian School of Mines premises. In the eighties, he joined the police services and also started Tiger’s Indo Kan Martial Arts Federation of India to train youngsters.

He shot to fame after being featured in the Limca Book of Records during the show Anokhi Duniya, which was aired on Doordarshan in 1996. A year later, he performed the act of crushing an electric bulb on his palm on Surabhi, aired on Doordarshan.

Since then Lee has been part of various shows on AXN and Discovery. He got another break in 2007 when he received an offer for the Zee TV adventure-show Shabaash India. Assisted by trainees from across the state, he helped create 99 records as stunt co-ordinator on the show. Then he took part in Star TV series Wah India the following year.

Lee has learnt the nuances of martial arts from Buddhist monk Shiang Lama and has also trained students of the government schools. However, he rues the lack of support from the government for promoting the art in the state.

“The state has enough talent which can be groomed with little support,” said Lee hoping he could get land to launch a training centre in the district.
