It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving...

The inspiring words of Mother Teresa will welcome visitors once they enter the newly floated website of steel-city based NGO Jeevika.

The NGO, which works to promote intellectually impaired children, launched its website www.jeevikajsr.org at its Sonari office in Jamshedpur on Friday.

The website has been developed and designed by Pragya Thakkar of DPS Eastern Pvt Ltd, an IT solutions unit.

Indian Steel and Wire Products managing director Neeraj Kant, Jeevika founder Avtar Singh, secretary Sukhdeep Kaur, Educare head Rohit Rajpal, special educators Krishna Murty, Balbir Kaur, XLRI representatives and 24-odd students of the NGO were present at the inaugural function.

The website highlights activities undertaken by the NGO throughout the year, success stories of students and various handicraft items made by the special students.

"The website will help us reach out to the public outside Jamshedpur. We want to highlight all the success stories of our children and show to the world that they are equally talented like others," said Jeevika founder Avtar Singh.

One can also volunteer, donate money or sponsor a special child by visiting the website.

"We get a lot of enquiries from people about how to donate money online. The website will come to the rescue. From now on donate money that will directly go to the day-to-day expenses of the children," added Singh.

"Every parent wants their children to be independent and responsible. Unfortunately, the journey for a intellectually impaired child is difficult and full of challenges. This is where we step in, hold their hands and try to make their dreams come true," said Jeevika secretary Kaur.

Founder Avtar Singh, who is also associated with Special Olympics as a regional trainer (Asia Pacific), said, "Four of our students have found jobs while some have also won medals at various international contests. One of our students N. Sai Krishna now works as a manager in Jeevika."
