Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: The DBMS English School is all set to welcome its famous alumnus actor R. Madhavan and director Imtiaz Ali.

Both are to participate in the diamond jubilee celebration of the school, and the family, friends, relatives and above all their alma mater, back in the city are all looking forward to roll out red carpet to welcome them.

As former students, both have brought laurels to their school and the city as well. One has shown talent in front of the camera, while the other has shown creativity behind it.

Now, it is time for the school authorities and family to shower their gratitude towards them. Preparations are on in the school and in their native places to welcome them.

The parents of R. Madhavan, mother Saroja Ranganathan, a former employee of Bank of India and father K.S. Ranganathan, an ex-official of Tata Steel, are thrilled about the diamond jubilee celebrations and said it would be memorable occasion for the family to unite at a place where they worked and lived together.

?Where do you get Kala Churan in Jamshedpur,? asked Saroja, his mother. ?My son wanted to taste it when he comes here. He was very fond of churan and wants to taste them like his school days,? she said.

Madhavan is busy shooting for a film in Mumbai and will reach the city tomorrow evening, she said.

He is coming to visit his alma mater after four years. He had last come in 2000 to participate in the 10-year anniversary of DBMS Career Academy, a school run by DBMS.

Madhavan, who shot to stardom in Hindi cinema Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, is also working in several Hollywood movies.

His latest Hollywood flick, Nothing But Life will hit the silver screen soon.

Her mother said though Madhavan was just back from London after shooting for his his new Hindi film, Ramji London Wale, but he agreed to attend the diamond jubilee celebration because the school and the city is close to his heart. The family of director Imtiaz Ali, residing at Sonari, is also looking forward to the director?s visit.

Ali, whose directorial debut, Socha Na Tha starring Abhay Deol will hit the silver screen soon, has already carved a niche in the field of direction.

?I am eager to meet my brother. It has been months when we last met,? said Sajid Ali.

?My brother always wanted to be different and it was his effort to achieve whatever he has got today. Though he has become a director but still his living is simple and he avoids unnecessary publicity,? said Ali.

His brother said that since Madhavan and Imtiaz are close friends it would be a memorable occasion to see them both on dais.

He said though his brother was busy preparing for the release of his first film but he will still try and make it to the function.

A graduate from Hindu College, New Delhi, Ali has the distinction of directing television serial like, Imtihan, Purushshetra, X-Zone, Rishtey.

The experience in television helped him grab the responsibility of directing films.

Ali has a lot of films in his hand, including one starring Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol.

R. Madhavan and Imtiaz Ali have been invited to participate in a chat show as part of the diamond jubilee celebration.

The show is scheduled on November 6 on the premises of G Town Club.
