Jamshedpur, April 4: Youngsters who want to make a mark in Santhali film industry can now do so online.

Raghunath Academy of Santhali Cinema and Art (RASCA) today launched a website whereby aspiring talents can get access to the Santhali film industry at the click of the mouse.

Addressing reporters this evening at Nirmal Guest House, RASCA director Surya Singh Besra said that the newly launched website www.panditrasca.com would help the Santhali academy to spot the talents for making a big budget film on the line of Bollywood films.

He said that the RASCA would organise a nation-wide Santhali talent hunt in three states — Jharkhand, Orissa and Bengal. The first audition test for the talent hunt would begin from April 6 in Dumka, while the second test would be held at Jhargram in Bengal on April 13.

The third audition would be conducted at Baripada in Orissa on April 20.

The selected candidates would be given the chance in a big budget Santhali film and the Santhali channel, which the academy is planning to launch.

“We are planning to launch a 24-hour Santhali channel, which would be the first of its kind. For this, a huge number of Santhali people are required. Hence, we will organise the talent hunt,” said Besra.

RASCA would organise the first Santhali film award on May 5 at Tata auditorium, XLRI, where noted actors of the Santhali film industry would be honoured. “Actors Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada have consented to be the chief guests of the programme,” said Besra, adding that political leader Amar Singh would also grace the function.
