Patna, July 2 (PTI): Accusing the Nitish Kumar government of launching a ?witch-hunt? for members of a minority community under ?pressure? from the BJP, the Rashtriya Janata Dal today said it would never allow the NDA government to turn Bihar into another Gujarat.

Senior RJD leader Akhlaq Ahmad alleged at the party?s minority cell meeting here that the Janata Dal (United)-led government was targeting Muslim officials and giving them less important jobs.

?A sort of fear psychosis is being created among the Muslim officials that end of RJD rule in the state means trouble for them,? Ahmad claimed while alleging it was done under the BJP?s ?pressure?.

RJD minority cell national president and Union minister M.A. Fatmi said the government had gone back on the promise it made before last year?s Assembly elections for the welfare of the minorities.

Fatmi said he would visit all the districts to highlight the government?s unfulfilled promises.

Congress protest

The Bihar Congress will hold a daylong agitation tomorrow to highlight the government's ?failure? on the law and order and development fronts.

The party workers will stage sit-ins in all 531 blocks of the state, a Congress release said here today.

Party MPs, MLAs and office-bearers will also participate in the demonstrations, the release added.
