Ranchi defeated Bokaro by 14 runs at BSL grounds while Pakur trounced Dumka by 152 runs at trainees' hostel grounds during the JSCA (U-14) inter-district cricket tournament in Bokaro on Friday.
In the first match, Ranchi won the toss and opted to bat. The team notched 122 runs in 40 overs at the loss of 9 wickets. Prince Kumar Singh of Ranchi scored the highest of 66 runs. For Bokaro, Anshu Singh took 3 wickets and Gyan Anand Jha 2.
Chasing the victory target, Bokaro scored 108 runs in 38.4 overs at the loss of all wickets. Prince Kumar Singh of Ranchi took 3 wickets and was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the second match, Pakur won the toss and batted. They notched 184 runs in 40 overs for 7 wickets. Tushar Ghosh scored the highest of 50 runs.
Chasing the target, Dumka batsmen fell quickly to the fierce bowling attack of Pakur. The entire team was bundled out for 32 runs in just 14.4 overs. Tushar Ghosh of Pakur, who also took a wicket, was declared Man of the Match.
