Ranchi, March 30: If you are an adventure junkie, then it’s time for you to pack your bags for a roller-coaster ride that promises to turn your summer holidays into a thrill fest.
Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Jharkhand chapter, is organising a summer adventure trip for members to exotic places across the country. Be it trekking across the majestic Himalayas or camping amidst picturesque locations, the association has six tour packages on offer.
Trekking destinations include Kullu Manali-Rohtang Pass, National Himalaya Trekking-Saar Pass, National Himalaya Trekking Abhiyan Sarkundi Pass and National Mountain biking Jalori Pass. But if mountains is not your calling, then there is a nature study camp happening in Dalhousie.
The association has also included Netarhat and Ranchi in the programme. The home trip begins from April 2. Rock climbing in Ranchi followed by a three-day camp in Netarhat is part of the itinerary.
The participants, who are referred to as camp leaders, will be given certificates after the successful completion of the trip. The association, which has units in 20 states, will allow a group of 10 from each to avail of a tour.
Chairman of the state unit of the association Shivendra Dubey said the adventure trip had been organised to provide exposure to youths. “The junket has been planned in a way to promote national integrity. That is why we have chosen places across the country. We will be organising such tours on a regular basis,” he added.
The charges for each trip will vary. However, the organisers are yet to decide on the exact amount. “For the Saar Pass expedition, we will charge Rs 3,655 from each participant and the fee is inclusive of food and lodging. However, we have not decided the cost of other tours,” said Dubey.
Interested youths can book their slots from the Ranchi office of the association. Online booking from the official website is another option. But do not forget to carry your membership cards, as you will have to produce it whenever required.
