CPI concern Bhumij dead Demands Raiyati land Thumbs down

Country liquor seized

Assistant commissioner of excise Uday Prakash Singh raided, at least, six villages - Niru Pahari, Mathadih, Karma, Yadutand and Jhumri Tilaiya bypass - and seized 435 litres of illegal country-made liquor and 13,300 kg of fermented mahua. his is the largest haul by the excise department in Hazaribagh district. Singh said six persons were arrested during the raid while three others are absconding.

CPI concern

The CPI has expressed concern over a reported starvation death in Garhwa district. In a press release issued in Ranchi on Saturday, member of the state Secretariat Ajit Biswas stated that the deceased’s husband is in a critical condition and the party will try help the family in all possible ways.

Bhumij dead

Manglu Bhumij, who was admitted to the Medical College hospital on August 15 with, died on Saturday. Bhumij, a resident of Bhuiyandih, was shot by three persons at an ashram in Bhuiyandih. One assailant was identified by the victim as Gopal Prasad. No one has been arrested in this connection.

Demands

Raiyati land

Singhbum Janjati- Mulbasi Raiyat Kalyan Parishad, Jamshedpur, on Saturday submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum demanding restoration of their raiyati land in and around the steel city. embers claimed that their forefathers were not paid any compensation by the government or parties concerned on being displaced.
