Hazaribagh, Dec. 31: Proper road connectivity, increased water supply, new collectorate, better medical facilities and education infrastructure.
Hazaribagh sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal plans to achieve this all and more in the new year.
Speaking at a news meet held at his office today, the MLA listed his priorities for 2017, saying he was trying to get a proposal cleared from the state government to increase the water storage capacity of Charwa Dam to its maximum permissible level.
"Charwa Dam is now unable to meet water demands of 6 lakh people. Its water storage capacity is 100 acres and we plan to expand it to 400 acres," said MLA Jaiswal at his office in Laxmi Cinema Hall.
He added that old roads would be repaired and new ones laid. "We plan to construct three new stretches - Bahimar-Dandh-Ichak Road to benefit people coming from Chatra to NH-33, Sirsi-Narsingh Sthan-Mukundgunj to get direct access to NH-33 and Ramnagar-Charwa-Mayatu Road."
Besides, the tender for a new collectorate on NH-33 has been issued and chief minister Raghubar Das will soon lay the foundation stone. A sum of Rs 35 crore has been earmarked.
"We will get rid of overhead wires on the Ramnavami procession route. New facilities will come up at Sadar Hospital. Four government schools will get requisite infrastructure," he added.
