While Dipak Kumar Singh and Dibyendu Mondal were elected senior vice-president and treasurer respectively, Anil Tiwary, Sanjiv Ranjan Bariar and Ajay Singh Rathore were named joint secretaries.

Names of 12 elected executive committee members were also announced: Anita Kumari, Pushpa Kumari, Sukanti Hembrom, Usha Rani Sharma, Sabita Kumari, Piyali Roy, Bimal Kumar Yadav, Dilip Mahto, Dipendra Nath Ojha, Akshay Kumar Jha, Jai Prakash Bhagat and Sanjiv Kumar.

Out of the 2,053 members of the association, around 1,193 members (58 per cent) cast their votes yesterday. The counting, being held at the new bar building of the district court premises in Sakchi, was being conducted by senior advocate Shyamal Choudhary.

In all, 99 candidates were in the fray for 21 posts.

“Elections were held in a fair manner. We had constituted a 35-member panel of advocates, including Sarat Mahanta, Madan Mohan Mishra, R N Satpathy and S B Sathpathy, to oversee counting,” he said.
