Jamshedpur, Aug. 11: DJ Abstract Dimension is in perfect control of the console as he brings the house down spinning out heady Bollywood remixes.

The new kid on the DJ block has bagged himself a place in the finals of the War of the DJs, to be hosted in Mumbai tomorrow.

That Vinayak Upadhya will be a name to watch out for in the contest is a foregone conclusion for anyone who has watched him perform in the semi-finals at Delhi.

So was he prepared for tomorrow?s war?

?Absolutely,? says the Loyola School alumnus over phone from Mumbai. ?I love competition because it brings the best out of me,? the 26-year-old adds in an excited voice.

He refuted the suggestion of being jittery. ?I am very confident about tomorrow?s performance. I did a great job in Delhi and that has given me loads of confidence to do even better tomorrow. I am never afraid to do anything when it comes to the disc,? Vinayak informed. He talked about how the audience had cheered and clapped at his performance in Delhi. ?Remo Fernandes and the Balle Balle Brothers, who were the judges there, came up and told me that I did a good job with my console. I felt so happy that I could almost die,? he explained.

It took a struggle of five years after landing in Delhi to get a foothold in the DJ circuit. It was tough, he admits, but the struggle was worth it. ?I worked as a DJ in Planet M. The toughest thing was to get the right kind of equipment like turntables, mixers and records. They were so expensive and no one was willing to help,? said Vinayak.

Finally with help from his family, he managed to purchase his own stuff. It was around the same time that he learnt about the War of DJs. ?I was determined to get into it.
