Jharkhand's Laxmi Hembrom tops the junior women's recurve list in National Ranking Archery

Jharkhand's Laxmi Hembrom topped the junior women's recurve ranking round of the 2nd NTP National Ranking Tournament at NIT ground in Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan on Wednesday.

She had a total score of 649 (331+318) and edged out Bhajan Kaur of Haryana who totalled 647 (324+323) and Maharashtra's Charuta Mohan Kamalapur who managed a score of 639 (326+313) to finish third.

Jharkahnd's Anshika Kumari Singh, Sonali Bhakla and Samala Nageshwari finished 15th, 19th and 20th, respectively. The host state's international archer Komalika Bari, who claimed a silver in the senior women's recurve, opted out of the junior competition.

Jharkhand could not make it to the top three in the junior men's recurve round. Dhru Bagga of Delhi finished on the top with a score of 662 (325+337) while Aditya Choudhary of Punjab won the second place with 661 (331+330). Maharashtra's Parth Sushant Salunkhe, on the other hand, finished third with a score of 660 (320+340).

Jharkhand's Mrinal Chouhan had to be satisfied with the fourth position 656 (329+327).

The hosts also could not succeed in qualifying for the top three spots in junior women's compound division shooting. Aditi Gopichand Swami of Maharashtra topped the ranking round with 695 (349+346) to edge out Telangana's Thaniparthi Chikitha 690 (346+344) and Rajasthan's Priya Gurjar 689 (343+346).

Competition in the junior men's compound saw Kushal Dalal of Haryana topping the list with a score of 714 (356+358) while Maharashtra's Prathamesh Samadhan jawkar winning the second spot with 711 (352+359). Haryana's Rishabh Yadav, on the other hand, finished third with 708 (355+353).
