Jharkhand’s lone sitting Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani, whose term is set to expire on April 9, is set to contest the Rajya Sabha election from Andhra Pradesh as the nominee of the YSR Congress Party. Senior group president of Reliance Industries, Nathwani tweeted that he filed his nomination for the third term of Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
IPS officers
Two IPS officers from the state were on Wednesday relieved for central deputation. They are the 2006 batch IPS officer Kranti G. Kumar, and 2010 batch IPS officer P. Murugan. Kumar will have to work for the Bureau of Police Research and Development as deputy director and Murugan for Central Bureau of Investigation as superintendent of police.
MGM canteen
State health minister Banna Gupta on Wednesday ordered the removal of outsourced agencies engaged for housekeeping and canteen works at MGM Medical College in Dimna near Mango, around 7km from the city.

Jharkhand Police through its official Twitter handle has asked Jamshedpur police and SSP to take action on a complaint against Church School, Beldih, that denied results to its Class VII student Rishant Ojha who couldn’t appear in his annual exams due to an eye injury caused by a fistfight with his classmate on February 4.

Dumka constable Arun Kumar Singh was found hanging on Wednesday at police barracks. Police suspect suicide. His wife and family stay at Ghatshila.
Accident kills 3
Bullet Mahto, 18, Rabindra Mahto, 15, and Bhukhal Chand Mahto, 46, died and nine persons were injured when a van carrying a wedding party collided with another four-wheeler near Sidhawani village under Pindrajora police station around 1am on Wednesday, town deputy superintendent of police Gyan Ranjan said. The victims were coming from Purulia district of Bengal. Three of the injured persons are critical.
Child falls
Priyanka Kumari, 7, fell from the terrace of her house on Tuesday while trying to throw a bucket of coloured water on a Holi procession in Japuwa village of Chatra district, some 45km from the district headquarters. The child is critical at a private nursing home in Ranchi.
Special camps
The Jharkhand Education Project Council along with the East Singhbhum district social welfare department will hold camps to motivate students with disabilities to join school. The first camp will be held on Thursday in Baharagora.
