The monitoring committee, which met on Wednesday, failed to take any decision on beautification of civil court premises due to absence of government officials concerned. “Executive engineers of the public works department, drinking water and sanitation department, electrical engineers of the electric works department and electrical executive engineer of electric urban supply division were scheduled to attend the meeting, which was presided over by judicial commissioner D.P. Singh. But they did not attend the meet, which was called to discuss various issues including beautification of the civil court premises.” The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has cautioned residents of the city against construction of septic tank and soak pits outside their houses. An RMC order issued by the medical health officer directed residents to construct them inside the boundary walls of their houses. In case septic tanks and soak pits are found outside the boundary walls, legal action will be taken against the guilty party according to corporation provisions. The order further said: “If the septic tanks overflow, the residents should contact the RMC. The tanks can be cleaned by depositing a fee with the RMC.”The youth wing of the state Intuc has alleged that wholesale clothes merchants in the city exploit their employees. Intuc president Ajay Rai said the service conditions of the workers were not according to labour norms. A delegation met the deputy commissioner and apprised him of the situation.
