IndusInd Bank has become the first Indian commercial bank to achieve certification for its network of branches under the ISO 9001: 2001 Quality Management System. The certification was awarded to IndusInd managing director Bank Bhaskar Ghose by Sundar Kataria, managing director (International certification Services). The certification acquires significance from a regulatory point of view as the Reserve Bank of India has urged banks to acquire ISO certification for their operations. It comes to the bank at a time when the bank is making foray into retail banking.
