Here's some good news for people bound for Pink City.

Keeping in view the huge rush of passengers during festive months, South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to re-introduce Shalimar-Jaipur Weekly AC Summer Special Express, which will travel via Tatanagar station, from September 18 to November 29.

Introduced in March this year, the train has already run till June-end in its first leg.

According to a fresh schedule issued by Garden Reach, the Calcutta-based headquarters of SER, on Saturday, the Shalimar-Jaipur Weekly AC Summer Special Express (08061) will leave Shalimar every Monday at 8.20pm and reach Jaipur at 6.35am on Wednesday.

On its return journey, the train (08062) will leave Jaipur every Wednesday at 12.45pm and arrive at Shalimar at 11.20pm, the next day. The Up train will reach Tatanagar at around 12.30am on Tuesday while the Dn train from Jaipur will arrive at Tatanagar at around 7pm on Thursday.

The special train with four AC-II, five AC-III coaches and four sleeper class coaches.

On its onward journey, it will halt at Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Champa, Bilaspur, Pendra Road, Anuppur, Guna, Ruthiyal, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bansthali Niwai and Durgapur before reaching Jaipur.

It will cover the same stations on its way back to Tatanagar.

Tatanagar station manager O.P. Sharma said they received a circular about the re-introduction of the train.

"A decision was taken for resuming the train keeping in view the public demand," Sharma said.

Before this, as there was no direct train from Tatanagar to Jaipur, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) had also in the past raised the demand of regularisation of the train.

"We welcome the railway decision. Numerous passengers, especially those hailing from Rajasthan and businessmen who travel to Jaipur frequently, will be benefited," said Vijay Anand Moonka, a senior functionary of the trade body.
