Hazaribagh: Organisers are busy with last-minute preparations for the fourth edition of the three-day Itkhori Mahotsav to be held from Monday on the premises of the famous Ma Bhadrakali Temple on the banks of river Mahane, around 30km from Chatra district headquarters.
Chatra SP Akhilesh B. Variar said 1,200 jawans of the CRPF and district police would take control of the entire venue during the state-sponsored festival that celebrates the cultural and spiritual significance of Itkhori, a historical temple site known as the confluence of three religions - Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism.
Special attention would be given to the security of women.
Sources said the cultural extravaganza would be telecast live across the world for the first time this year.
A team of four persons from BSNL is working at the venue to install seven cameras to cover the temple, the stage and audience. There is a plan to build a control room on the temple premises for this purpose. A camera will also be installed at the museum, which has ancient structures and idols found in the region over the past few years.
BSNL assistant engineer Ramesh Chandra said an expert from Delhi had been called to assist them.
Even district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make this festival a grand show like the previous years.
DC Jeetendra Kumar and Variar are making frequent visits to Itkhori, around 25km from Chatra district headquarters, to supervise the preparations.
Variar said four police posts would be set up in each corner of the temple complex. Jawans will be deployed there round the clock.
