Jamshedpur, July 13: Members of the Jamshedpur Management Association (JMA), including th newly-formed management committee, deliberated on how to make the association more active at a meeting in Beldih Club this evening.

The management committee sought suggestions from the members. Speaking on the occasion, president Niroop Mahanty said the association was at crossroads and there was a need to make it more vibrant. “This is possible only through the collective effort of the members and also through transformation of the association,” the vice-president, HRM, Tata Steel, said. He also released a new logo and launched the new website of the association. The new management committee was formed in the association’s annual general meeting on May 5.

The committee is headed by Mahanty as president and Nadeem Kazim as secretary. B.L. Goenka was elected treasurer while Bailey Bodhanwala, the vice-president of the association. Anil Sinha, Atul Taunk, Cherry Bhatia, N.K. Dutt, Pradeep Srivastava, Sanjay Choudhury, Surajit Sengupta and Saurajit Dey are members of the committee.

Kazim said the association would like to have active participation of its members. “In our executive meeting held earlier, we discussed what we required to do to make the association more active and in work in accordance with the criteria set by the All-India Management Association (AIMA),” he said.

The need has been divided into five categories — training and development, publication, membership promotion and infrastructure development. At present, the association has 156 life members and 166 annual members.
