Jamshedpur, Sept. 25: In an attempt to provide international exposure to its students, the XLRI School of Management has sent six students to foreign universities as a part of their student’s exchange programme.

While four students, Anoop Bhatia, Sourav Mishra, Vikas Garg and K. Pravin would be staying for three months at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila (Philippines), Khushboo Jha and Vivekdeep Jha would be attending programmes at the Malardalen University in Sweden.

Except for K. Pravin, who is a student of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PM&IR), the rest study Business Management, one of the flagship courses of the B-school.

“During their stay, the students would be exposed to various cross cultural issues and the corporate world. They would also interact with students from various continents. The main objective is to enable these students to project the country’s image and that of the B-school positively,” Pingali Venugopal, dean of academics, told The Telegraph.

The students would take up elective subjects of their choice in those universities. They would attend various sessions on international issues, designed by the universities. The B-school has a Programme for International Students Exchange (POISE), which grooms students on various international issues.

Secretary of POISE, Ashish said that this exchange programme would help in the final placements of these students. “Companies visiting the B-school during the annual campus recruitment programme look for students with international exposure. So these students would definitely have an edge,” explained Ashish.

Students from the Manila-based University would arrive at XLRI by this month end.
