
Beldih Kalibari, organises the mahotsav to celebrate the age-old bond between teacher and disciples.
This year, over 2,000 members of the outfit, founded by former head priest of kalibari Srimad Brahmananda Shastri, have come to Jamshedpur from different parts of India for the celebrations.
Two more dramas — Punarvas and Sutaputra Karna — by the Sangha’s Delhi and Jamshedpur branches, respectively, and a documentary film by its Varanasi members are lined up for Monday, Day Two. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto is likely to attend the event.
Tuesday, the concluding day, will begin with guru pujan in the morning at Brahmolokdham, a unit of Beldih Kalibari at Air Base Colony, Kadma. Former minister Banna Gupta will grace Tuesday’s function at Rabindra Bhavan in the evening. Text by Pinaki Majumdar; picture by Bhola Prasad
