De Nobili schools on cloud nine

Bokaro/Dhanbad, May 19: It was celebration time at the De Nobili schools in Bokaro’s Chandrapura and CMRI, Dhanbad, as the results of the ICSE and ISC examinations were announced today.

Aditya Banerji of De Nobili, Chandrapura, got the highest marks in the district, securing 97 per cent in the ICSE exams, as Indrani Bandhopadhyay of the same school secured 93 per cent in the Class XII ISC examination to be the first among the girls.

In Dhanbad too, De Nobili School CMRI produced the ICSE district topper. Akash Kumar got 95.43 per cent to bag first place, followed by Arunima Kumari with 94.57 per cent.

Giving details of the results, principal Fabian Mallik said Akash scored 90 in English, 95 in Hindi, 99 in environmental science, 94 in social science, 98 in mathematics, 97 in science and 95 in computer science.

Abhishek Gaurav of St Xavier’s School, Bokaro Steel City stood first in the district in the ISC examinations with 94 per cent marks.

From the school’s science stream, other than Gaurav those who secured good marks in the ISC exams were Abhishek Ranjan with 91 per cent, and Suneha Kumari and Shuchi Singh with 90.50 per cent each. In the commerce section, Rashika Kumari got 92.75 per cent, followed by Snehlata Rana and Kriti who fetched 92.50 per cent each.

Among the ICSE examinees of the school, Pratik Kumar Nishchal got 93 per cent, followed by Archita Savarnaya who bagged 92.71 per cent.

In Dhanbad, it was an all girls show in the ISC examination as they outperformed the boys in all the three streams of arts, science and commerce.

Vedika Ritolia, a commerce student of Carmel School, Dhanbad, scored 96.3 per cent to emerge district topper in her stream in the ISC exam. Daughter of businessman Anil Ritolia, Vedika, who wants to become an IAS officer after cracking the civil service exams, tallied 96 in English, 100 each in mathematics and commerce and 99 in accounts.

Ritika Chatterjee, daughter of railway employee Prabir Chatterjee and a student of Carmel School, proved her mettle in the ISC exams by emerging district topper with 94.75 per cent marks in arts.

Tanya Banerjee, another student of Carmel School, Dhanbad, came first in the science stream. Tanya got 95 in English, 96 in maths, 94 in environmental science, 92 in physics and 90 in chemistry.
