Jamshedpur, Dec. 16: The city will witness a scintillating dance drama performance at the closing ceremony of the Golmuri Club’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on December 20.

The performance will include a classical dance presentation along with recitation, music and live narration. To make the presentation livelier, the club has made elaborate arrangement for music and lighting to ensure the melody of the tabla, flute and tanpura have a lasting affect.

Club honorary secretary, Anand Krishna said, “We are planning to conclude the Platinum Jubilee celebration with a blast and have selected a performance that can live up to the club’s reputation.”

The events include a Christmas and a New Year bash. The classical dance drama “Krishnayan” will round off the event. The programme is being organised by Sangeet Kala Kendra in association with the club. The 90-minute dance performance will depict the love of Radha, Rukmini and Meera towards Krishna.

Secretary of the Kendra, Geeta Tiwari said, “It needs a lot of practise, expertise and time to clearly depict the play, as the eternal love symbolises different schools of thought and is free of jealousy. To depict it through dance is a challenge.”

Shilpi Lahiri would play the character of Krishna. Radha, Rukmini and Meera will be played by Sudheshna Dhote, Sonali Chatterjee and Bharti Banerjee respectively.

The script and narration is by Neha Tiwari and art direction by Debjeet Paul. The 17-member team also includes seven child artistes.
